The The Stephen T. Marchello Scholarship Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation that gives scholarships to current year High School Graduates in the states of AZ, CA, CO, and MT who have survived childhood cancer. 2004 Scholarship Recipients
Kacy Wilms, a graduate of Sterling High School in Sterling, CO was awarded a one time grant of $4,000. She is attending Northeastern Junior College majoring in Theater and Psychology. Kacy was selected as an All-American Scholar and member of the National Honor Society. She participated in Knowledge Bowl, Thespians, and Yearbook Staff. Through her church she worked with Habitat for Humanity. Kacy is a survivor of Leukemia which she was treated for at the age of thirteen.
Alejandro Median, a graduate of Pueblo Central High School in Pueblo, CO was awarded a one time grant of $4,000. He is attending Colorado State University in Pueblo, CO majoring in Radio Broadcasting and Print Journalism. Alejandro participated on the varsity golf team for four years. He was captain of the team for three years. He has donated time to charity drives, housing projects, and distributed gifts to children in the hospital. Alejandro is a survivor of hepatoblastoma, a cancer that affect the liver.
Brandon Zitting from Longmont, CO is a graduate of Ute Creek Secondary Academy in Longmont. Brandon was awarded a one time grant of $1,250. He is attending Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO majoring in engineering. During high school he lettered in baseball, was President of the Student Council and Vice President of the National Honor Society.
Tanner Randall, one of our first scholarship recipients was given a $1,000 grant to pursue his master's degree in engineering. He is a survivor of a Wilms Tumor. This summer Tanner had rods placed in his back to replace the back muscles destroyed by radiation and spent the summer rehabbing from that procedure.
